VDO (Vendor Defined Object)
The 32-bit record encoding a cable's identity and capabilities.
A VDO (Vendor Defined Object) is a 32-bit data structure exchanged during USB-C Discover Identity that encodes a cable or device's identity — vendor ID, product ID, and cable-specific capability fields. Cablyst can show the raw VDOs reported by a cable and decode them into plain-language capabilities.
See it on your own cable — install Cablyst, check a cable, or browse the full glossary.
